About NRC

What are we all about?

The Nassau Rowing Club was the first rowing club in The Bahamas, formally established in August 2012 to develop the premier competitive rowing program for rowers of all experience, age and fitness levels in The Bahamas.

Our primary goal is to develop a corps of highly technical male and female rowers to contest local and international competitions at the highest levels and to the highest standards.

Though this is our primary goal we know it takes steps to achieve this level of competitiveness. That is why we have developed numerous programs to create opportunities within the Nassau communities. Between our Learn to Row sessions, Master program and Government School program we are hitting a wide audience of potential athletes that are willing to participate in a new sport to The Bahamas.

We aim to build a model community through which rowing can flourish in The Bahamas. Through our loyal members and community we are continuing to build the awareness of this sport within The Bahamas. We boast that every elite Bahamian rower (Emily Morley, William Stanhope and Lex Fountain) have all come from Nassau Rowing Club. They pave the path for our future rowers, through their dedication, hard work and inspiring stories. Our camp has and continues to create a positive learning environment for every person who  launches off of our dock. We strive to accommodate all perspective and future athletes with a home of competitiveness, attention to detail and knowledge of not only the sport of rowing, but the sport of rowing in The Bahamas. Lake Cunningham is the definition of rowing in paradise, where we are granted with 2k on the north shore, and 3k on the south shore.

We invite any person who has the desire to try something new, get out on Lake Cunningham or support a sport that can be done by anyone at any age or physical ability.
