In the past, rowing has been considered an "access sport" and we wish to break down the barriers that exist for our youth in the community to learn to row, and continue on to compete at any level they desire.  Our O.A.R.S. Programme, Opportunities and Access Rowing Squad are students who attend Government Schools in The Bahamas, and row free of charge.

Any student, ages 11 and up, who can swim, is eligible to attend.  Thanks to generous grants, Nassau Rowing Club was able to offer free rowing to 12 students last year, from CR Walker and LW Young. Our summer camps and Learn to Row classes offer beginner rowers a taste of the sport.  Rowers who progress may join the NRC Junior Team, again, free of charge.

Students who graduate from the program and remain on the island may row with our Collegiate Programme if they choose to continue with higher education.
